The Joe Cuba Sextet was one of the tightest bands in NY in the 60 s.
Their trademark Latin Soul sound was not only unique but it was truly
brilliant. This re issue features the incredible track 'El Pito' --one of
the biggest hits of the era. The album illustrates the bands ability to go
from Spanish to English and back again pioneering a crossover sound
that played in clubs from Harlem to LA. Other key tracks include 'My
Wonderful You', 'Pruebalo, OK?', 'Bochinchosa', 'Incomparable',
and 'Clave Mambo'. This album has been digitally remastered for the
first time.

Along with Bang Band (Wanted Dead or Alive), this is easily Joe Cuba's finest moment. Cuba's sextet stands out among Fania's roster for its heavy rhythm section -- if you dig vibraphones then this is not to be missed. Fania's new remastering of this album is probably as close as this set will ever sound to the original lp.
