This review is from: Viva Puente: Afro Cuban Rhythms (Audio CD)
Named after the 1958 RCA hit recording, which Shorty Rogers & His Afro-Cuban All Star Jazz Big Band, created in homage to maestro Tito Puente, "Viva Puente" offers one of the best afro-cuban jazz compilations ever put together and re-issued. "Mambo Beat", "Picadillo" and "Ti Mon Bo", by Tito Puente, "Viva Puente", the album's theme song and the acclaimed "Wuayacan~anga Suite" by Shorty Rogers, "The Man I Love" and "Perdido" by Eddie Cano, "Caravan",(my favorite) by Alberto Socarras, "That Old Feeling", by Noro Morales and "Jeanette", by Sabu Martinez, make this CD a classic. Great "Tropical Series" sound, as usual, don't miss it.
