First of all - I wouldn't say this is precisely Yanni as you know him, for this is definitely not the the Yanni from the 90's. Since Ethnicity, Yanni has explored new paths and in a sense grow. I can't say that I liked all of his recent productions, "Voices" was an OK album and "Mexicanisimo" was a terrible abomination - do not buy that album! Truth of Touch on the other hand is really refreshing - it really is. It has very well thought rhythms and melodies, it has a very unique and new sound to it - I believe it is a great transition for a new totally amazing Yanni to come in the next album. As far as the songs, Truth of Touch, Seasons, Voyage, Guilty Pleasure and Nine are my favorites. They also have some voices music which is ok and not overwhelming and a few other songs like "I'm So" and "Yanni & Arturo" which are terrific.
If you want to know more or less what this style is, I would compare to "If I could tell you" with a little bit of more rhythms and electronic...Read more

Yanni, Now & Then,

As a true Yanni's music fan for decades, I should say that this album is good but not great.
Yanni is experiencing new styles & sounds for recent years which make his music kind of different compare
to his golden years (mid 1980- 2000) with those unique & heavenly melodies we all love.
As we know, time changes everything; life, emotions, technology, music,...
Yanni became famous in 1993 with Acropolis concert when he colored his great music for first time with real orchestral instruments & world class
musicians. and then followed by 'Tribute' project. Those brought his studio music to life & to the world. He raised the bar so high with those soulful
songs that some of us now don't get full satisfaction by listening to new ones...
I hope this new album 'Truth of touch' be a good framework for Yanni to do it again.
He is the best.
You'll enjoy this album

Frist of all, what you need to know before you purchase this album is that is certainly more electronic than acoustic. Don't expect major symphonic orchestrations. Also, you should probably understand that this music will be different from Yanni's previous compositions. Expect to hear new sounds! If you are a long time Yanni fan, keep an open mind because this album will grow on you.
In the past, everytime Yanni has released something new I have made the mistake of judging it based on what Yanni has created previously. I found that juxtaposing new music to the likes of Santorini, Marching Season, etc only makes my listening experience a little bad because I am trying to find that connection between the new album and his previous albums. Folks... although in more sophisticated musical analysis, there are definitely nostalgic connections made by Yanni in terms of chords and melodies, don't look for a connection!
This music is brand new and my goodness it is...Read more
