It's undeniable that she's the queen of merengue. After 9 hit albums, Grammy awards, Billboard awards, #1 hits and Gold, Platinum and Multi-Platinum albums she gets back on the charts.
"Sobrevivir" is an excellent album with lots of rythm, mixing all the way through the album dance songs and ballads.
The first single, "asi es la vida" toped the US charts and in several territories.
Olga's voice is unique she has an incredible strengh when she sings and she really can make you dance. This album has been certified Gold only 3 weeks after its release.
Olga goes goes through merengue, flamenco and ballads in this album, she also made a duet (on this album) with hit latin singer Luis Fonsi.
I only have 2 albums from her ("Yo por ti" and "Sobrevivir") they're both great and made me love her and think of her as the best merengue singer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Olga Pleases Again, February 28, 2003

Olga Tañon delivers her 10th album. This album follows
up to her Grammy Winning Album "Yo Por Ti". This album
does not have as much merengue, (only two songs do)
but does hold to the Latin rythms. She goes through flamenco,
ballads, tango and dance. Olga's strong voice holds the
songs in place. The ballads are the album are mostly very
meaningful. She is still not one to disappoint.

4.0 out of 5 stars An album worth listening to., December 11, 2002

After 2001's Yo Por Ti, Olga Tanon returns with this new album called "Sobrevivir" which features 6 ballads and 5 midtempo and uptempo songs. Overall the album is not better but just as good as Yo Por Ti. It features the lone merengue song "Por Tu Amor" which is one of my favorite songs on the album as well. One thing I did notice about the album is that Olga's voice sounds way better than in Yo Por Ti. Other notably worthy songs on this album are, "Caramelo", "Beso A Beso", "Ojos Negros", "Asi Es La Vida", "Sobrevivir" and "A Partir De Hoy".
