Summary: Roberto Roena's all-time best CD. 2007-08-05
Comment: Well over 30 years after its original release (1974) on vinyl this album remains just as exciting and thrilling as it was back then. The great but underrated sonero Sammy Gonzalez turns in some of his best performances on the ultra-hot guaguancos "Traicion" and "Herencia Rumbera" vand on the fiery but laid-back son montuno "Cucarachita Cucarachon". Roena and company play HARD like there's no tomorrow and even the bolero "Es Que Estas Enamorada" sounds compelling. To top it all off, check out the heavenly coro (chorus) of Adalberto Santiago, Pete "Conde" Rodriguez, Paquito Guzman and Tito Cruz. Buy this CD and pump it up LOUD ...that's the best way to experience the raw funk and POWER of this great music!!!

Comment: Percussion,percussion,percussion.Great musical arrangements,lyrics and execution.Cant go wrong if you like SALSA THE WAY ITS SUPPOSED TO BE...OLD SCHOOL...THIS IS IT.

Summary: The best Roberto Roena CD ever. 2004-04-24
Comment: This essential CD was Roberto Roena's sixth Fania release and remains a high point of 1970s Salsa. "Herencia Rumbera", "Traicion" and "En Mis Rosales" are true Salsa masterpieces which feature the superb but underappreciated sonero Sammy Gonzalez on lead vocals. This CD is a "Salsa Essential" on all counts.
