This is a great album. Stephen is the real talent in the Marley family. It is sad that most people rave over Nicki Minaj and Drake . Unreal not even one review. Shows how the dumbing down of the American music scene has been so successful. Lady Gaga has 51 reviews. Let me talk about the album. My favorite tracks Love Made In Africa, No Cigarette Smoking (In My Room), Old Slaves,She Knows Now ,and Now I Know. It is also refreshing to hear live instruments used on the album.

This is an amazing CD. Stephen always deliver, he is the musical genius behind his brothers. If you enjoyed "mind control" you will love this CD. My favorite is Pale moonlight, no cigarette smoking, she knows now, false friends and jah army. This is REAL music!!!

First of all; this is a concept album. A magnificent concept album. Each song makes a statement and adds to the whole. Each song is an example of the Roots, or is about the Roots. This CD tells a story of the origins of man, the Rastaman, Reggae music, the infusion of hip-hop into reggae, where Stephen has come from and where he is going too. Stephen really shows his talent here covering Pale Moonlight in an old-school Reggae fashion.

Overall, this has a more urban feel to it than Mind Control. I do like Mind Control quite a bit more, but this is a concept album, and concept albums are just generally not as well accepted as a straight-up collection of songs. The production work is slick as always. One thing with Stephen Marley, he has a near prescience when it comes to how long this riff should last, when this vocal should end. You don't find yourself saying "Gee, I wish they would end this solo and continue the song" Nothing gets tired or boring in any of these tunes...Read more
