Alejandro Fernandez is incredible ! The man has been gifted as few mortals have...a voice of amazing beauty and power, absolutely stunning looks, great stage presence...and the musical instinct and knowledge to put out CDs of total excellence, and this is one of his best. He sings with soul and passion..listen to his voice soar in "Como Quien Pierde una Esrella" ! Other favorites include "Llorando Penas", "La Mitad que me Faltaba" (what romantic lyrics !) and "El Potrillo" which is about his heritage (his father is the legendary Vicente Fernandez) and his music. If you like Mexican music, This is one to treasure for many years to come.

Prior to his romantic hit album "Me Estoy Enamorado," Vicente Fernandez' gifted and handsome son was a more traditional Mexican Ranchera-genre singer. This album is the best of the earlier CDs. You'll find yourself singing along even if you don't speak Spanish. Alejandro has one of the most beautiful male voices in the entire world of Latin music. In addition, the lush production and fine playing by the mariachis supporting the singer make this a gem in the treasure chest of contemporary Mexican music.

Alejandro Fernandez's powerfully rich voice makes this album a true pleasure. Though not at all similairly musically, in sentiment, I look at him as the Mexican equivalent to a Marvin Gaye or Otis Redding. A man just singing his heart out about his loves and his women, and is not afraid to show the pain he is feeling. The lyrics are first rate, especially in "La mitad que me faltaba." "Como quien pierde una estrella" is a rousing number that is great for singing along with friends
