This album by Tanghetto is a wonderful surprise. The distinct style is identical to that of Gotan Project and Bajofondo Tango Club, but there is an incredible amount of deliberately sequenced soulfulness in El Miedo a La Libertad.
The entire album (with perhaps the exception of the Sweet Dreams track) conveys the mood of a bright and happy day, idling in a beautifully romantic European city, such as Paris.
Track 1 (El Testigo) starts out calmly, and moves the album on to an adventurous note. The middle of the album takes on a uplifting liveliness in track 5, (Viajero Inmóvil), track 6 (Englishman in New York) and track 7 (Alguien se acuerda del Mayo Francés?). The album ends at a soothing and poignant track 12 (El Miedo a la Libertad).
A rather unique, and most wonderful and worthy inclusion to anyone's Electronic Tango collection! Try it!
