Mi Nina Bonita

Chino y Nacho from Venezuela hit the jackpot on this one. Nothing groundbreaking stylistically but they mix it up and the performances are strong - about half of the songs here are real standouts. The pair have great charisma and personality and from song to song switch from among sincere romantic lover, bad boy womanizer, and jokester poses, sometimes within the same song, while smartly staying away from vulgarity. Also evident is a smart sense of self-promotion, almost every song includes some chant of their own name at some point and they pull that off without it being particularly annoying. The pair obviously have a blast performing and being stars and it shows.

Rating the songs, about half I give 5 stars - my favorites are the danceable tracks "Lo Que No Sabes Tu", "Voy a Caer en La Tentacion", "You Make Me Feel (Higha)", and the title track. The more balladish "Se Apago La Llama" and "Me Mata Me Mata" are also tops. The others I rate between 3 to 4 stars.
