This CD through musical means provides insights into the life of common Dominicans thirty years ago.
The simple way of life depicted by the sound of the accordion and guiro in many of the songs and usage of unique Dominican vocabulary indicates the import ants of religion, friendship, food and work in there daily lives.
The music is very rhythmic and pleasing to the ear. It causes you to move and want to dance to the sounds.
This CD musical demonstrates the great joy and happiness for life by the common Dominicans.
Indispensable for the true Merengue lover,

I discovered this through a "Putumayo presents" compilation for children. Never fails to put everyone in our house in a good, positive mood! Play this and ask the little ones to clean-up as much as they can before the song ends! Easier to listen to than other discs by this singer that have that old-fashioned, kitsch sound our "Abuelas" enjoyed.
