Summary: I love it! 2008-05-15
Comment: I had heard "Limon y Sal", the song, a long time ago and loved it. When I first listened to the CD I was surprised to hear 3 other songs I recognized from the radio. I know very little Spanish, but with the lyrics included, I can sing along. It's fun to listen to with catchy tunes!

Summary: A Great Work by a True Musician 2008-02-03
Comment: Julieta Venegas is a rarity in the world of popular music. She is a studied musician, a talented composer, and a beautiful singer. This CD is her best so far. Her lyrics are a poetic exploration of love in its many manifestations and phases. I wish I had discovered her 15 years earlier.
I cannot recommend this CD enough.

Summary: Favorite Latin Pop Album 2008-01-24
Comment: I listen to every type of music in the world - classics, opera, jazz, "world" music of every sort - Spanish, Italian, Near Eastern, Eastern European, Indian.... While a "gringo" from NY I speak Spanish pretty well and am big on Latin American music, and Julieta is one of my favorites. Have all her discs, love them all, but LIMON Y SAL is my favorite. Can't get enough of songs like "Canciones de Amor" "A donde sea" "Limon y Sal" "Me Voy" "Mirame bien" - I love them all! And I don't care about what all the head-bangers say - about how she sold out and went pop to make a lot of money. That's a lot of crap coming from angry fools stuck in a one note rut, incapable of change or development, or of looking outside of their own closed little niche. This girl can really rock, and with an accordion no less! And we love her for it, and also because she doesn't come out on stage dressed in nothing but her underware, like so many other latina divas. With Julieta - while a singualrly beautiful woman - it's all about the music - [...]
Love her music videos, too, especially "Primer Dia", "Limon y Sal", "Lento", "Me Voy" - really, all of them. But I'm tired of watching them on you-tube. Why don't they do a DVD with all this great stuff collected together - HQ?

Summary: Awesome Latin pop 2007-12-15
Comment: Simply put, this album is awesome. I understand _very_ little Spanish, but I can't stop listening to it. Truly great melodies. And although I can't comprehend much of the lyrics, they do seem meaningful. I'm really surprised to find so many great songs in one single album. I listen to contemporary Latin music quite a bit and I can say that these songs are among the best. Julieta Venegas is a very talented artist. She writes and sings her own songs (unlike most other female artists in Latin music) and she is great at both. Gracias Julieta.
