Selena Gomez Shines on This Album,

What can I say? Selena Gomez is amazing, and is a great role model. I think this album could have been better, but there is a batch of songs on this album that are very catchy, she does it well. Her voice isn't as powerful as her best friend, Demi, but Selena still shines well. Demi, and Selena's music is different from each others. I think they should do an album together. I can't wait for both of them to put out a new album, maybe next year? I sure hope so. I think you should at least check out this album, this album isn't terrible, but I would have left a few songs of this album, not saying which ones, because I have respect, for the ones who like the songs on this album that I don't. The stand out songs on this album are:
1. Falling Down
2. The Way I Loved You
3. Tell Me Something I Don't Know
I know I give this album four stars, but there is a lot of songs I can listen to over, and over again, and not get tired of them, but this is still one of my favorite...Read more

This is a fun, upbeat album. Just about every song will take 80's kids like myself back to their childhood, which is probably part of the idea. If you liked the Go-Gos back in the day, you will also like this album.

Selena Gomez's debut album is mostly upbeat and happy music, something kids can dance and sing along to. The only slow track is "The Way I Loved You." For a debut album, this one meets expectations. She is a rising Disney star and this album is aimed at kids. So no, none of the songs have a lot of "substance" in them. Her voice is rather strong and she will definitely delight little kids as their next favorite artist. The lyrics booklet (one of the reasons I prefer physical CDs) is also well made, packed with colorful photos.
Overall, the album is a fresh start in the music industry, but is not award-winning material. For kids who want to have a great time, this album is perfect for them. For anyone else looking for deep, meaningful music, I suggest to look elsewhere.
