The master of the love ballad--in at least six languages--has finally put his greatest hits, along with four new tracks, in a solid two-CD bilingual set. His early material from the 1970s is solid stuff that reminds us of Iglesias's initial allure--his voice, at once mellifluous, melancholy, and warm. His early magic is evident on such heat generators as the plaintive but ultimately uplifting "Hey," the haunting "Abrazame," and the moving "Manuela." He broke the U.S. market wide open in 1984 with the corny but impacting "To All the Girls I've Loved Before" with Willie Nelson. That song began a successful series of duets with other pop stars such as Stevie Wonder, Dolly Parton, and Diana Ross, all included here. Comment: LET ME START BY SAYING THAT I AM NOT A JULIO IGLESIAS FAN, (MY WIFE IS A HUGE FAN). HOWEVER I DO LIKE SOME OF HIS SONS AND THAT IS WHERE THIS CONSPILATION COME INTO PLAY. THIS IS THE JULIO I LIKE, I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR A CD WITH HIS MOST UPBEAT MUSIC AND "JULIO - MI VIDA- GRANDES EXITOS" IS A GREAT RECOLLECTION OF HIS GREATEST HITS. IT IS A COLLECTION OF THE MORE UPBEAT SONGS THAT JULIO SINGS THAT I LIKE AND SOME OF HIS SLOOOOOW SONGS I DO NOT LIKE. FOR EXAMPLE DISC 1 IS THE ONE I LIKE THE MOST SINCE IT CONTAINS HIS SONGS THAT ARE UPBEAT MUSIC, DISC 2 I DO NOT LIKE AS MUCH BECAUSE MOST OF ITS SONGS (ESPECIALLY THE ONES HE SINGS IN ENGLISH - DUETS) ARE TOO SLOOOOOOW FOR MY TASTE, BUT FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT LIKE THE MORE MELLOW JULIO IGLESIAS YOU MIGHT LIKE. IN SPITE OF THAT, THESE SET OF CDS DESERVE A 5 STARS RATINGS. GIVE IT A TRY AND YOU WILL LIKE IT. ONE OF THE GREAT THINGS ARE THAT AMAZON HAS THE 30 SECOND CLIPS THAT YOU CAN LISTEN TO BEFORE BUYING.

Comment: I'm a Julio's fan since he started his career in 1978, his voice, the way he sing the songs, so romantic, make this complilation a real great CD, one of the best, Julio is the most romantic singer in the Spanish speaking language, MUST BUY IT, IT'S GREAT

Comment: If you aren't aquanted too much with his spanish songs ( or cant speak spanish), then the "my life" CD is for you. For the bilingual sort..."mi vida" ( the other version of this) is better.Though $30 + is steep, think of how much time and energy u r saving in buying a compilation. You wont be dissapointed. FYI: I just saw Julio in concert last August 2003. He basically plays a greatest hits set, neglecting his new stuff as if it didn't exist. The new "divocio" 2003 album is ok, but he'll probably only sing 1 song from it. GET THIS BEFORE YOU GO SEE JULIO IN CONCERT! Don

Summary: A must in latin easy listening 2003-10-28
Comment: If yor love soft and easy listening, then look no further if you buy this CD. It takes hearing a few songs to get the latin feeling and get in the mood. Although Julio has a vast discography, you might say he's put the main essence in this CD. Sit back .... and Enjoy!
