Huey Dunbar IV

Comment: Really enjoyed this cd Huey still has it with his ridiculous vocals... The tracks are good overall a good new school salsa album!!!!

Comment: Huey Dunbar is phenomenal. Definitely a great Salsa album, Amarte and Te Amare are my favorites for certain. It is an album that you will love if you are into salsa or just music to dance to. Also is great for Zumba classes since it is very lively and can be used for a great beat. Definitely would recommend.

Comment: I wasn't suprsied that this album contained less than stellar material, because that's been the story of Huey's musical career. Since his days with DLG to now, he's never quite been able to find the right formula to create a great album. However, Huey is able to get away with average material because of his powerful tenor voice and unique interpretations. The standout tracks are the immaculately interpreted "Te Amare" and the closing track "Si Tu Me Amas." The other songs, while nice, are non-descript and a little mundane. Despite the material, this is still better than 90 percent of the salsa out there, hopefully it won't be another 7-year hiatus before his next salsa album, by that time Huey will be a 40-year-old man with a pop-belly.

Amarte - Nice song, lyrics are a little generic, but as always the vocals are up to par.
Te Amare - Great song from start to finish, easily the best song on the album.
Ayudame - Nice song, great energetic descarga at the end with the pregones. Check out the timbal solo.
Mi Deseo - Nice song, good hook.
Alimenta Mi Alma - Good intro, average body, great energetic pregones.
Number 6 - Didn't bother to download this one, that's why I don't know the name. It's not salsa, and judging from the 30-second snippet it's probably the weakest song on the album.
Puedo Existir- Good hook, wasn't enamored with the body, as is a common theme on this album, Huey shines on the pregones.
Tu Luz - Nice song, but there is something keeping this from being a great song, I can't quite figure it out.
Llegar - I had a hard time figuring this song out. It's not bad, it just gets incredibly mundane, to the point that you neither know or care what the lyrics are saying.
Si Tu Me Amas - Great song, next to "Te Amare" it's the best song on the album, definetly closed it off in fashion.

Comment: THE BEST SALSA CD IN A LONG TIME!!!...Glad to see Huey back after so many years. Huey went back to his salsa roots and this is a strong contender for music awards. This cd is freaking good with the 'Huey trademark singing' with a hint of the "Original DLG" which he was a member and you can even tell Huey was having fun singing in the album because you hear him laughing and talking... jajaja !!! Good job Huey, well done. Like Huey says at the end of "Ayudame" IM BACK BABY!!! UUUUYYYY!!!
