Aceptenlo, gente..este es uno de los mejores del tipo, y de los mas completos. Quizas no tan repleto de clasicos, pero es un universo dentro de el solo.

Summary: Typical Dominican merengue!!!!!!!!! 1999-01-31
Comment: On this, his seventh production, Juan Luis Guerra tries to revive what dominican merengue really is. Commonly known as "perico ripiao" in the Dominican Republic, this type of merengue has a faster tempo and the lyrics aren't taken very seriously. Also new instruments are added, like the accordion, which brings a unique touch. Although Juan Luis "plays" a lot with melody in this album, he is not alone. With him he has famous guitarist from Zaire Diblo Dibala, which influences Guerra's thinking in many ways. Songs like "Fogarate" and "El Beso de la Ciguatera" (a real catchy love story between a man and a woman that get poisened by eating fish)are an example of the ability of Dibala's guitar and Guerra's arrangements. But it doesn't stop here, because if you want great latin rythims, this cd includes an excellent salsa("Oficio de Enamorao")about one guy that can't live without his gal, a cuban "son" called "Los Pajaritos" that mixtures human love with those of birds and of course the typical "perico ripiao" found in the titles "El Farolito" and "La cosquillita": two great fast beat merengues that will make your blood flow like crazy and your hips move deliriously. For those who like Guerra's ballads, he offers "Vivire", a modern type "bachata" with real romantic lyrics and an inspiration on Mozart's "Requiem" called "Lacrimosa", a very well put interpretation on Juan Luis' feelings on classical pieces. So, if like merengue and want to dance till you drop, I suggest you this album. If you like Juan Luis Guerra, I say go out and buy It!!!
