Years go by, life changes, people change, and their way to see (and to sing) reality follow suit. The poetry, the energy, and the intentionally-hidden interpretations of Alejandro Sanz's work fascinate me once more. Different? Yes. But here lies the beauty of this newborn CD: El Tren de los Momentos pictures life in its forever changing state. My advice? Change with it! The only reason this didn't get a five is because 5 is what Mas and El Alma Al Aire got. As good as this CD is it's not as good as those ones. What stands out is that Alejandro seems to be going back to his sound pre-No Es Lo Mismo (thank god for that). There is a nod to 3, Mas, and El Alma Al Aire in this CD. The stand out tracks for me are "Ensename Tus Manos" and the duet with Shakira "Te Lo Agradezco Pero No" which is brilliant. I'm not a big Shakira fan but they've managed to tone down her voice enough to make her bearable and the song brilliant. Shakira is an original singer but her voice can be overpowering and isn't really made for ballads. Anyway, both those songs will be huge. Other great tracks are "En La Planta De Tus Pies" which in singing style for Sanz... sounding awfully like Tiziano Ferrer. It works.
