Comment: Timeless music that brings back memories of growing up in a seemingly more musical time. I learned how to play guitar to this music. Great stuff!!

Summary: This is perhaps the highest and most profound art 1999-06-07
Comment: Chulas Fronteras is THE documentary ne plus ultra on tex-mex (norten~o) music, combining wonderful, authentic music past and present with up-front dialogue with the musicians who play it and the Tejanos whose roots are so deeply intertwined with it. Timothy Harding, an incredible and well-known scholar of Mexican folk and art music, once told his class: "I sometimes think that if I had made that film I would die happy without having done anything else..." Dr. Harding is right.--Justin Laird Weaver

Summary: A true tejano would love this!!! 1999-05-10
Comment: I grew up listening to this music. The songs are authentic because they are from the heart. If you love the accordian and polkas you'll love this CD. I recommend listening while have a nice cold one! For those who have roots in Brownsville or Weslaco Tejas, you should buy this classic.
