A decent selection of hits,

After the unbelievable `Siempre es hoy' and the bizarre `Reversiones', Gustavo delivers this selection form his discography, adding as a bonus for people who already owns his discography a new song `Tu locura' and a DVD including all his videos as a solo artist. These two added values will be more than enough for fans.
The Album
17 tracks from his discography and a new song. `Tu locura' presents the classical Cerati we all know, with interesting and well written lyrics and a nice mixture of electronic sounds with his acoustic guitar. Some of his best songs as a solo artist can be found here, themes like `Paseo inmoral', `Pulsar', `Amor amarillo', `Puente', `Amo dejarte asi', `Lisa' and `No te creo'. The only problem with the selection I believe is that the album `Reversiones' was considered for this compilation, so we have the revised versions of `Fantasma' and `Tu cicatriz en mi', that might not be that bad but aren't definitely better than the original...Read more

Awesome Cd + Dvd collection,

This review is from: Canciones Elegidas 93-04 (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
First of all, the songs in this compilation are Cerati's choice; not fans', not the company's, but his. Just because this doesn't include my favorite songs is the quality of this cd + dvd set supposed to diminish? Give me a break. To the Reviewer who complained about the song Te Llevo Para Que Me Lleves: most likely it wasn't included because the woman singing with Cerati is his ex-wife. That's the only reason I can think of him not including this song.
I could understand if you're a first time listener and expect to hear the most popular, not the best, but most popular songs of Cerati and being disappointed. If you're already a fan and complaining, why? It should be assumed that you already have Cerati's whole music collection. I personally bought this for the dvd, because it is extremely rare to be able to see videos or live performances by really talented artists in the U.S. just because they're not all over the place. Seeing these videos for the first time is...Read more

Great Introduction Collection For New Fans,
June 24, 2005 Verovenus (Maryland, USA) - See all my reviews

I recently became a Gustavo Cerati by association with Soda Stereo and slow exploration of his music, with songs like "Tabú" from Bocanada and "Torre de Marfil" from Siempre es Hoy. However, I did not come to understand the full scope of this artist's talent until I bought this collection. Songs like "Vivo", "Lisa", "Engaña", and others show Cerati's great solo career and multitude of sounds and colors. And in addition, the collection of his videos gives you another dimension of his work. I specially enjoyed the videos for "Paseo Immoral" and "Canción Animal", which shows Cerati singing the Soda Stereo classic and giving the song new life with his interpretation of the song with a full orchestra. Highly recommended for those fans that like me, missed out on his career up until now.
