Summary: BACK TO OUR TEJANO ROOTS! 2001-07-08
Comment: In order to really appreciate the "Tejano" music of today you must go back to "The Roots." The Artists on this CD are the true Pioneers of "La Onda Tejana." These Artists and their music are the ones that lead the way for the groups and Artists of today like Bobby Pulido, Emilio, Michael Salgado, etc.. Lydia Mendoza and Chelo Silva were back then, what Selena is today. Without them to open the path, where would "Tejano" music be today? This is a great purchase and a "must have" for any serious "Tejano" music lover. However, in my opinion, Freddie Fender has no business being on this CD. A better candidate would have been Mr. Ruben Naranjo. THIS IS A MUST HAVE for any avid fan of "La Musica Tejana."
