123 Cuentame un Cuento

Comment: I ordered two other Dvds with this one and Brainy Baby-Spanish was the best. It kept my 23 month old engaged, while 123 Cuentame un Cuento is a bit advanced and Galloping Minds -- I did not care for at all -- anyone can hold up flash cards! In any event, Brainy Baby-Spanish was worth the buy. I am a spanish speaking mother who wanted to find a good product for my daughter while I am at work so she may study the language while she is at home since my sitter only speaks limited spanish. Thank you Brainy Baby!

Comment: I bought this DVD for my son when he turned 3 months old because I only speak to him in Spanish and I want that to be his primary language. I had a hard time finding Spanish DVDs and this one had good reviews so I bought it. In all honesty, the first time I watched the DVD, I thought it looked kind of cheesy but it had good reviews and I wanted my son to be the deciding factor. I bought Cuentame un Cuento, Los Colores de Rufino and Aprendiendo Tempranito and I still haven't made it to the last two because we love Cuentame un Cuento so much! My son is now 9 months old and still loves the video. He will stop whatever he is doing to watch it and if he's tired or cranky, I'll sit with him and watch it and he is so interested in it. He watches it from begining to end and would watch it more than once if I let him. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this video!!

Comment: Being a native Spanish speaker, I wanted an educational video for my 15 month-old baby who currently only listens to Spanish at home. I was very happy to find 123 Cuentame un Cuento. My daughter really likes it and has started to learn and repeat the numbers everytime she sees it. The video is comprised of short stories narrated in a very simple way, often followed by songs, with emphasis on numbers and counting. I give it 4 stars because it becomes a bit boring towards the end, and I see my daughter loosing interest. Then again, you don't want them glued to the TV, so I think its fine the way it is. I also like the fact that it is narrated by native spanish (Mexico) speakers, not by translators. I do highly recommend it to bilingual and/or parents who speak Spanish at home. The series may be OK for non-native speakers, though both parents and kids may find it hard to follow, especially the stories, and loose interest.

Este es el mejor video educativo en español que hasta ahora he encontrado aquí en los EU. Como en casa solo hablamos español, quería una serie donde se pudiera escuchar y aprender más vocabulario, y no solo una que otra palabra traducida del inglés. Estoy feliz de que haya este tipo de producto disponible en Amazon. Una de las razones por la cual me gusta este DVD es que utiliza métodos de estimulación temprana, como es el de narrar historias con vocabulario, imágenes, y canciones simples de comprender. Como el título lo dice, el énfasis es en los números y en contar. Desde que mi hija empezó a ver el video, ya repite algunos números. El español es de México. El DVD es entretenido y no cansa, aunque mi niña empieza a distraerse cerca del final. Lo recomiendo a todo padre bilingue, e incluso a padres que solo hablen un poco de español en casa.

Comment: Unlike the other videos of "A la vibora de la mar" I find this one quite slow and boring. It does have nice parts (I am tempted to edit it and cut out all the parts when my 23 month boy gets bored) Unfortunately, those parts are the story-telling (which is the center of the video)...
